พิพิธภัณฑ์อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ กองบิน 5 กองทัพอากาศ ก่อตั้งขึ้นเพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์ และเชิดชูเกียรติประวัติการต่อสู้ของนักรบกองบินน้อยที่ 5 กับกองทัพญี่ปุ่นที่ยกพลขึ้นบก ณ อ่าวมะนาว ในสมัยสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 เพื่อใช้ประเทศไทยเป็นเส้นทางเดินทัพเข้าตีฐานทัพอังกฤษในประเทศพม่า เมื่อวันที่ 8 ธันวาคม พ.ศ.2484
จากศาลากลางจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ใช้ถนนเลียบหาดประจวบมุ่งหน้าไปทางทิศใต้เข้าสู่ กองบิน 5 ตรงไปประมาณ 500 เมตร จะเจอทางเข้าซ้ายมือ ตรงไปอีก 1 กิโลเมตร ถึงอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ ตั้งอยู่ติดกับศาลเจ้าพ่อเขาล้อมหมวก
Historical Park Museum, Wing 5, Royal Thai Air Force, was established to commemorate and glorifying the history of the fights of the fighters of the 5th Airborne Division with the Japanese army that landed at Ao Manao during World War II to use Thailand as a marching route to attack the British military base in Burma on December 8, 2016.
From Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Hall, take the road along Prachuap Beach heading south to Wing 5, go straight for about 500 meters, you will find an entrance on the left hand side, go straight for another 1 kilometer to the Historical Park, located next to Chao Pho Khao Lom Muak Shrine.
