ถ้ำแก้ว อยู่ห่างจากที่ทำการอุทยานแห่งชาติไปทางบ้านบางปูประมาณ 16 กิโลเมตร อยู่ในบริเวณหุบเขาจันทร์ เป็นถ้ำที่มีหินงอกหินย้อย ที่สวยงาม ลักษณะเด่นของหินงอกหินย้อยที่ส่วนใหญ่ค่อนข้างใสและโปร่งแสง การเดินชมถ้ำค่อนข้างลำบาก เนื่องจากภายในถ้ำมืดมาก และพื้นไม่เรียบเต็มไปด้วยหินใหญ่น้อยระเกะระกะ จึงจำเป็นต้องใช้ตะเกียงเจ้าพายุหรือไฟฉาย และมีเจ้าหน้าที่อุทยานแห่งชาตินำทาง ในบริเวณถ้ำแก้วมีความโดดเด่นของภูมิประเทศแบบคาสต์ (Krat) ซึ่งมีลักษณะภูมิประเทศที่เป็นหินปูน พื้นที่คุณลักษณะละลายน้ำได้ โดยน้ำจะชะละลายหินออกไปมาจนมีลักษณะตะปุ่มตะป่ำเต็มไปด้วยหลุมบ่อเกิดถ้ำและทางน้ำใต้ดิน ถ้ำแก้วอยู่ในบริเวณเนินเขาหินปูนได้ผ่านกระบวนการทางธรณีวิทยาดังกล่าว และภายในถ้ำยังมีการสะสมตัวของตะกอนน้ำ หรือแร่แคลไซต์ทำให้เกิดลักษณะหินงอกหินย้อย หินปูนฉาก หรือหินน้ำไหล ซึ่งเป็นลักษณะที่สวยงาม บริเวณดังกล่าวแสดงการสะสมตัวของหินปูนในทะเลน้ำตื้นและผ่านการชะล้างกัดเซาะของทางน้ำให้มีลักษณะเป็นโพรง
จากกรุงเทพฯ ขับมุ่งตรงสู่ จ.เพชรบุรี จากตัวเมืองเพชรบุรี จะผ่านทางเข้าหาดชะอำ ซึ่งอยู่ทางด้านซ้ายมือ (เป็นสี่แยกไฟแดง) ไม่ต้องเลี้ยว ให้ขับตรงไปอีกประมาณ 25 กม.จะถึงตัวอำเภอหัวหิน จากตัวเมืองหัวหินใช้ทางหลวงหมายเลข 3219 เพื่อมุ่งหน้าสู่ อ.สามร้อยยอด พอถึงถึงหลักกิโลเมตรที่ 286.5 ให้เลี้ยวเข้าสู่อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาสามร้อยยอด (มีป้ายบอกทางตลอด) ขับเข้ามาแล้ววิ่งไปสุดทางก็จะพบทางแยกจะมีป้ายเลี้ยวขวาไปอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาสามร้อยยอด ให้เลี้ยวไปตามป้ายเลย เลี้ยวไปไม่ไกลก็จะมีป้ายเลี้ยวซ้ายต่อเป็นเส้นทางชนบท ป.ช.4020 ไปตามทางได้เลย จากนั้นสังเกตุให้ดีจะมีป้ายบอกไปถ้ำพระยานคร (ไปทางเดียวกัน จะเป็นสี่แยกให้ขับเลี้ยวซ้ายไปทางถ้ำพระยานคร (ทางขวาจะเป็นวัดหุบตาโคตร) ขับเข้าไปประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตร ก็ป้ายบอกทางไปถ้ำแก้ว ขับไปประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตรจะเป็นทางลาดยาง ก็จะเจอทางขึ้นถ้ำแก้ว เดินทางขึ้นเขาอีก 128 เมตร ก็จะถึงปากทางลงถ้ำแก้ว
Kaew Cave is 16 km. away from Bangpoo National Park Office, in the area of Chan Valley, with beautiful stalactites. The stalactites are quite clear and translucent. The cave walk is quite difficult because of darkness and rough ground with tiny rocks. A storm lantern or flashlight and a national park guide are needed for visiting this place. In the cave area, it is a distinctive feature of the karst landscape with limestone terrain. The area is soluble; that is to say, the water dissolves rocks and the surface becomes knotty with holes and a waterway. Kaew Cave is in the area of limestone hills resulted from such process of geology. The inside also contains the accumulation of sediment or calcite, resulting in stalactites and stalagmites, limestones, or rocks for flowing, providing a beautiful appearance. The area shows the accumulation of limestone in the shallow sea and erosion of the waterways turning into the hollows.
From Bangkok Drive straight to Phetchaburi Province from Phetchaburi City. will pass through Cha-am beach which is on the left hand side (A red light intersection) do not have to turn. Drive straight for about 25 km to reach Hua Hin District. From Hua Hin town, take Highway 3219 heading to Sam Roi Yot District. When you reach the 286.5 kilometer mark, turn into Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. (There are signs along the way) drive in and run to the end, you will find a junction with a sign to turn right to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Let's turn to follow the sign. Turn a short distance, there will be a sign to turn left to the rural route N.C.C. 4020 along the way. Then notice carefully, there will be a sign telling you to go to Phraya Nakhon Cave. (go the same way It will be an intersection, turn left to Phraya Nakhon Cave. (To the right is Wat Hup Ta Khot) drive about 1 kilometer, then there is a sign indicating the way to Tham Kaew. Drive about 1 kilometer to be a paved road. You will find the way up to Tham Kaew. Travel up the hill for another 128 meters, you will reach the entrance to Tham Kaeo.
